HubTile disappears from the page when the region is not en-us on WinPhone7.5. See attached sample.

Repro:
Create Default phone app
Add toolkit
Add one HubTile to content grid

Setup simulator to region Greek or German and restart simulator
Deploy app and run.

Tile will disappear when title text animates into view

I tested code in new project and took that new dll from new place. Still it doesn't work.

Never mind, what Visual Studio tells you. It deliberately ignored Microsoft.Phone.Controls.Toolkit.dll when I added my corrected one to the project.
I am assuming you installed the Windos Phone SDK somewhere on your computer. Search for Microsoft.Phone.Controls.Toolkit.dll on your computer and delete all occurances expect for you fixed version that you link to your project. (Be sure to make a backup, though.) That worked for me.

First I deleted old toolkit from my project and then I set new one from the new place.

Unfortunately Visual Studio always ignored the dll when I added it directly to the project and instead still used the one provided with the WP SDK.
I had to delete the dll from the Windows Phone install dir. (C:/Program Files/WP SDK...) Just search for it.

hmm... this fix didn't work in fi-FI localization. I downloaded source, replace those lines and build it. Then I took new dll in to my project.... and also checked that dll's date and time was same as build date and time.

Steps to reproduce:
1) Create a CustomMessageBox object.
2) Add a Dismissed event handler to this object.
3) In the Dismissed event handler, add a Navigation to another page.
4) Run the app and dismiss the CustomMessageBox. The app should throw a NullReferenceException.

What happens (from what I can understand) is the CustomMessageBox starts dismissing, runs the dismiss event as expected, then it tries to navigate, also as expected. It then gets dismissed a second time, at the end of which (the second Dismissed event), a NullReferenceException is thrown. I believe there is some cleanup that is happening twice in this case. I will do some research in the source today and see if I can't isolate it.

For anyone else looking at this, possible fixes may include:
A try/catch in the cleanup function.
Checking for null before accessing the cleanup.
Preventing the dismiss from being called if previously dismissed, possibly by checking for navigation events.
Adding a post-Dismissed event with which to Navigate from.

When ItemTemplate of LongListSelector contains TextBlock with TextAlignment="Justify" designer displays error "WrappedException: Error HRESULT E_FAIL has been returned from a call to a COM component." for WP7 and "Exception: Error HRESULT E_FAIL has been returned from a call to a COM component." for WP8 in Visual Studio 2012 (Update 3 RC1).
As I remember Update 2 displays error too.

Hi,

We have an scenario were we have a list of items (ItemsControl) and each item has its own ContextMenu instance. Also, this list is into a UserControl, and the UserControl is being instantiated into a Custom Style for the TransitionFrame,.

The ContextMenu does not show up in a page different from the one where the item was added.
I have attached a project sample with the issue.

- Run the app
- Tap and hold any of the initial items. (The context menu will show up)
- Tap to navigate to the details page.
- Tap and hold any of the initial items. (The context menu will not show up)

if you add and item, and then tap and hold over the new item. It will work, but if you hit back and then tap and hold it won't work.

The solucion is add :

> bounds = new Rect(0, 0, effectiveWidth, effectiveHeight);

into the file ContextMenu.cs on method UpdateContextMenuPlacement. It should be added right after this validation:

}

The sample project also contains a patch file with the information.

Downloaded the source codes and tested both sample for WP7 and WP8, found out the SlideInEffectSample is not working in PhoneToolKitSample.WP8.

I am new to the WP8 development, and currently learning the transition effect, so I downloaded this source codes to learn how to do it, but running the SlideInEffectSample in the WP8 project it is not working.

Anyone know why?

In Windows Phone 8, the `ManipulationCompleted` event of `LLS` \ `Pivot` \ `Panorama` is set to handled by default. You can get some information (here)[http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windowsphone/develop/system.windows.uielement.manipulationcompleted(v=vs.105).aspx].

Try to add the event handler to the `Pivot` control forcely.

Here is my code, you could have a try.

I'm trying to use the transition service to add transitions to my application that convey to the user where they are and how pages relate to one another. However, I'm encountering a problem where the transition seems to break/have a glitch when set up in a particular way.

The scenario (attached) has three pages - master, detail and action. The user can navigate from master to detail, then from detail to action. When completing the action, the user is returned to the detail page.

When navigating between master and detail I want to use a turnstile transition. When navigating from detail to action I want no transition on the detail page, but the action page should slide up and fade in. Similarly when leaving the action page it should slide down and fade out, then the detail page should appear with no transition. This is how the built in 'alarms' app 'all' and 'edit' pages work.

The issue can be seen by navigating from master to detail to action. At this point everything is fine. But then navigate from action to detail to master. The turnstile transition from master to detail and vise-versa now appears to be missing half of the transition, it appears broken.

I have scenarios in my app where I want to dynamically switch to different transitions depending on where you are navigating to, but it appears the transition service is fragile.

Please take a look at the sample project. I have configured the transitions both in XAML and code but it doesn't appear to make any difference.

Am I doing anything wrong?

Currently you can change the HeaderTemplate, but there's no way to change the header template in full mode, and therefore you can only set the header in the full-mode to a string. This is a problem because you completely navigate away from the original page, so the user doesn't have any context of what they are working with. Instead I'd like to be able to add a more descriptive header, perhaps even some interaction. The obvious choice would be to set the Header to something more akin to an object, but currently the FullModeHeader is only allowed to be a string, and you can override the template that it is applied to.

Currently, there is no way to control the HubTile Visualstate that will be drawn first.
If no ImageSource is specified for the item, the user will be facing a blank rectangle for a good second or two.
